Making the most of this weekend, my friend and I decided to pop into Newcastle for a catch up and some food (well it would be rude not to when we both have a day off!)
Between a Newcastle United football match, the Rugby World Cup Final on televisions in bars and celebrations starting early for Halloween, it’s safe to say that town was incredibly busy!
We headed onto Grey Street for something to eat and decided to try Byron’s, the latest Burger restaurant to open in Newcastle. Neither of us had been before and it’s only been open a couple of months, so we thought why not give it a go? Well, I’m pleased we did.
Byron is located in the building where the old 2 story H&M used to be at the top of Grey Street and inside looks amazing. The decor is very trendy yet understated with green tiling on the walls and booths in each corner, with tables surrounding them.
It reminded me of an American diner and carried the theme nicely with a good atmosphere. Despite the fact that the restaurant was really busy, we only had a five minute wait before we were seated.
Honestly I’ve never found it so difficult to decide on which burger to have. There was so much choice! The Byron Burger with sweet potato fries and Bacon Cheeseburger with normal fries was the eventual decision and they were amazing!
The drink selection is really good as well. They sell a number of lagers, ales, ginger beers and wines. One of the lagers was their own Byron lager which apparently is very nice! The staff was also very friendly and really chatty.
Fancy going to Byron’s? Definitely give it a go. We’ll be going back.
